a few serious words about my art
im often into seeing how much i can express with how little form i wanted 2 use this photo because it was so stong because i knew that my process would require somethign strong 2 survive
many of the things i like about the original photo are lost in my image the individual strands of hair the well defined muscules etc
but i have the feeling that i took this a bit 2 far id love 2 get yr opinion on that

very well composed and dynamic! colors and style leave a lot of room for thought-provoking interpretations....in the end, you just know you like it. beautiful.
Picasso, Mondrian etc, when you explore the abstract you will leave the purely figurative behind at some stage. Think of it as a coming out experience and embrace it for what it is.
For me, the strokes create velocity, the sense of speed and energy, with the source starting in the top left corner. There are a number of different interpretations and stories I could make from this.
You asked the question "i have the feeling that i took this a bit 2 far, id love 2 get yr opinion on that". If something is going to be too far, you must define "from what or where" might it be too far from?
If you intent was to preserve original details of the model, you went too far. If your intent was to create abstract art, it does not go too far.
This art work stands on its own. It has velocity and energy, as well as scatter and interesting color. My mind immediately starts to imagine stories of what is going on.
Is it cosmic dust or rays, is it driven snow, is it a man being blown apart by a blast?
If art provokes thought and interest, and if it has intrinsic beauty, like this piece does, then it must be a success. It is a big success to me.
